Whats Included

Bed and Breakfast on secluded Voyageur Island before and after your canoe trip, the Bourgeois Dinner – delectable traditional cuisine (Fur-Traders Feast), Voyageur Island amenities including aromatic lake-front sauna, tipi and campfire experience, Voyageur’s “Montrealais” canoe ride, trip planning and 5 days of outfitting including Kevlar canoe and all paddling equipment; all camping equipment plus all backcountry meals and snacks.

About the Guides 

The Voyageur Wilderness Programme staff will custom plan your self-guided canoe route, review the map and provide a full orientation. They will get you geared up and ready to embark on your wilderness canoe trip.

Getting There

Plan to arrive the afternoon of Day 1 to the lodge at Voyageur Island, Nim Lake, west of Thunder Bay.

Latitude 48° 41′ 44.08″    Longitude -91° 28′ 14.55″

Directions

Voyageur Island is located near Atikokan, approximately a 2-hour drive west from Thunder Bay or a 2-hours drive east of Fort Francis.

If arriving by plane at Thunder Bay with Air Canada, Porter Air or West Jet or International Falls with United Air, Voyageur Wilderness Programme would be happy to arrange for an airport pick-up or shuttle.
