The southern isles, in the UNESCO Georgian Bay World Biosphere Reserve, are a paddler’s paradise of protected isles and inlets in an ancient mountain landscape, eroded over thousands of years of glaciation.

You’ll spend your days with Dr. Gerard Courtin, exploring the islands by kayak with short hikes to learn about the plants and animals that make up this unique coastline.

In addition, you will enjoy incredible swimming, hearty island camp meals and stunning sunsets on this relaxed wilderness kayaking adventure.

 

What’s Included

Three nights camping accommodation, delicious meals, a kayak and paddling equipment, all group equipment, kayaking, hiking, plant and animal interpretation and the services of a wilderness guide.  Please bring your own personal gear and sleeping bag.

For all trips, you must have “Basic Skills” (or equivalent) and capsize practice,  “Basic Rescue” (or equivalent) including being able to perform assisted rescues and previous camping experience.  (The prerequisites may be able to be completed prior to your trip. About the Guides

The Squall guides are exceptional individuals, with a wide range of talents and skills. Most are Paddle Canada certified sea kayak instructors as well as trained and qualified guides.  In addition, the resource staff (for geology, astronomy, ecology and photography trips) are leaders in their field as well as being fun.

Meet at White Squall Paddling Centre, 53 East Carling Bay Road, Nobel at 8:15 am so that you’re ready for introductions at 8:30 am sharp.  Click here for a list of recommended places to stay before or after your trip.

It is a 2.5 hour drive from Toronto Pearson International Airport. Need a ride? Transportation to Parry Sound is available by Ontario Northland bus. White Squall can help you with transfers from Parry Sound to its Paddling Centre in Nobel.
