The North Fork Championship V in Banks, Idaho, is set to kick off on June 16th. The three-day event sees some of the best whitewater kayakers in the world compete in three races. The previous year’s top 10 finishers vote on athletes that apply to race in the main event, but the competition is also designed so that newcomers have the oppurtunity to come and win it all. Races include a 1-mile down river sprint on class IV/V whitewater, a boater-cross race and a giant slalom race of seven gates through Jacob’s Ladder and Golf Course’s class V+ rapids.
