These two-day kayak or canoe weekend clinics are a great introduction to whitewater, or if time is a factor, a refresher clinic for the more experienced paddler. The course begins with a review the basic strokes in easy currents. By the end of the weekend, you’ll be surfing, catching eddies or running Class II rapids.
MKC takes pride in serving healthy, hearty and delicious meals. They source locally when possible and add a special touch with herbs and edible flowers from their garden. Listen to local music around the evening campfire.
What’s Included
Two days of professional instruction, full use of MKC’s facilities, including hot outdoor showers, log sauna, choice of camping, lodge or cabana accommodation along with gourmet meals. You can bring your own paddling equipment or rent it from MKC for an additional cost.

The instructors come from all over the world and bring a wealth of international skills with them. They all have a passion for the sport and a keen interest in sharing it with other.

About the Adventure Provider
The Madawaska Kanu Centre is located on the Madawaska River, just south of Barry’s Bay. Owned and operated by Dirk and Claudia Van Wijk (Ten times Whitewater Kayak Slalom Canadian Champion) since 1988, MKC offers some of the best whitewater clinics in Canada.
