In July 2014, James Roberts of Ontario Sea Kayak Centre, traveled to the Greenland National Qajaq Championships with fellow Canadian James Manke as part of the first team Canada to compete. He paddled a replica skin-on-frame design that he built called Nanortalik, from the town in South Greenland where it originated, not far from the 2014 championships. Watch Roberts’ mastery of this ancient art, as he demonstrates many of the more difficult Greenland-style rolls in the calm waters of Parry Sound, Ontario’s Seguin River.
