Don’t miss out on the Upper Ottawa River Paddlefest, August 7 to 9.
The Upper Ottawa River Race and Paddle Festival is a three-day event celebrating active outdoor lifestyles and the Ottawa River. The festival kicks off at 7:00pm on Friday August 7th with the Reel Paddling Film Festival at Festival Hall in Pembroke, Ontario. Events continue on Saturday August 8th with a day of races on the river at Petawawa Point Beach in Petawawa and Riverside Park in Pembroke.
Races features kayak, canoe, stand up paddling (SUP) and outrigger categories on the Ottawa River from Petawawa Point to Riverside Park (13 kilometers), as well as 4 kilometer loop races at Riverside Beach. After the races there will be demonstrations and water activities, including stand up paddling and stand up yoga, kids SUP races, a vendors field, kids activities, paddling clinics, a physiotherapy tent, and great local food and music.
The festival wraps up on Sunday August 9th with the second installment of Stand Up For CHEO. A leisurely paddle on the Ottawa River benefitting the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Register and learn more here: www.upperottawariverrace.ca
