A Utah company that began a Kickstarter campaign for heated sleeping bag liners has surpassed their crowd-funding goals by $145,000.
After their first successful Kickstarter campaign last year for their heated down jacket, Ravean founders Bryce Fisher and Jon Bybee turned their ideas towards sleeping bags. They knew people didn’t like being cold inside their tents, but also weren’t sure consumers would be interested in buying a whole new sleeping bag. The solution? They created a heated, battery-powered liner that fits inside your current bag.
The Kickstarter campaign began on April 13 and the project’s $20,000 goal was reached in just 15 minutes.
Ravean has come up with two liner designs. The Simple is the shape of a standard mummy bag and has heating elements around the feet and core. It can be used in any sleeping bag. Their second design is a wearable, heated sleeping bag liner with a hood, allowing campers to get out of the tent and stay cozy in the mornings. The liners have three temperature settings, last up to 12 hours and can charge a smartphone.
