The 2016 Adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Championship began yesterday on the Wellerbrücke river section in the Ötztal Valley.
In the men’s qualification runs, Argentina’s Leonardo Matias Lopz placed first, Germany’s Stefan Hengst second and Italy’s Michele Ramazza third. In the wildcard category, New Zealand’s Sam Sutton placed first, Great Britain’s David Bain second and Spain’s Gerd Serrasolses third.
On the women’s side, Nouria Newman from France placed first, Sandra Hyslop from Great Britain second and Pavlina Zasterova of the Czech Republic third.
