Trak Kayaks have updated their design to keep innovating “the ultimate touring kayak.” First, they are allowing you to change out a backband and a hard brace. They also beefed up the thigh braces.
The new 2.0 also weighs about eight-pounds less, it is now 43-pounds, than the previous design. When you are paddling long distances in a touring kayak, eight-pounds goes a long way.
The new Trak 2.0 Ribs
One way that they got the weight down was changing the injection molded ribs with a carbon fiber version. That gives an added bonus of less flex.
