After producing the Palmer River Fest for five years, and then a few years off, Paddling Magazine is back at Palmer River Fest, the country’s best learn-to-paddle whitewater festival. Publisher Scott MacGregor’s son Doug is on the water as a junior instructor, while his dad will be there selling subscriptions, flying the Rapid Media drone and taking photos.
For 19 years Paddler Co-op has opened the paddling season with a legendary whitewater festival, a weekend event to support fundraising for Paddler Co-op & kick start your summer of whitewater adventures.
Held along the banks of the Madawaska River in Palmer Rapids, Ontario, water levels are looking prime for the May long weekend festival. With whitewater instructional clinics for all ages and skills levels, camping and live music, this is the perfect chance to party with your paddling pals. This year Paddler Co-op has added a kayak water polo extravaganza, river SUP 101, and the 1st Annual Palmer Cross River Race to round out the weekend.
