Airhead SUP brought their monster Super SUP to Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2016 and shared the backstory to this unusual board with Adventure Kayak.
Airhead’s Jeff Turner says that the Super SUP came to be when a Boy Scouts of America troupe asked them for an eight person SUP. The Scout troupe wanted to use it for a team-building exercise.
The SUP has a 1,700 pound capacity, is 18’6” long and five feet wide, and is made of cross stitch drop stitch.
Turner says they have put in an order for 100 and hope to have the Super SUP available in time for the holidays. It retails for $3,499. “We’re confident they will do really well.”
