BIC SUP was at Demo Day for the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market and spoke to us about their new technology. BIC makes SUPs, surf, windsurf, kayak and sailing products.
Marketing manager Jimmy Blakeney explained that their new Tough-Tec construction is what they are most excited about for the coming year. Tough-Tec is BIC SUP’s improved version of their Dura-Tec construction. Blakeney says the foam is better and the shell is more durable, resulting in a higher-performing board. Blakeney describes Tough-Tec as having the durability of a kayak but put on a high performance board. Tough-Tec boards come in five sizes and range in price from $649-$749. Tough-Tec boards will be available in February 2017.

BIC SUP also has Ace-Tek construction. Blakeney says Ace-Tec is significantly lighter than Tough-Tec, while Tough-Tec is more durable. However, Ace-Tec boards are super durable for an epoxy board. Boards with Ace-Tec construction range from $1,110-$1,249.
BIC SUP is also introducing their new 12-foot board, allowing a larger paddler to feel stable and well-suited. “Someone who is 350 pounds could get on and be successful,” says Blakeney. They are also excited about their new quick connect fin on all Performer and Cross boards, a feature that will save users lots of time.
