Day 2 of the 2015 Canoecopia Show, presented by Rutabaga Paddlesports was even busier than the first day, with crowds filling the halls to check out the latest and greatest gear. The first paddling show for many in the US, Canoecopia was filled with spectators looking to buy new boats for the season, getting caught up on the latest trends in the world of paddling and talking with old friends they were worried about over the long winter. Check out the latest offerings that are sure to start a frenzy once spring hits your local waters:

North Point Paddles

I couldn’t walk past the North Point Paddles booth once I glanced at their beautiful wooden, Greenland-style paddles. All their paddles are individually handcrafted and fully laminated. Made from Western Red Cedar, these paddles are as durable as they are pretty. North Point has three different models available, the Rosario, which has cherry wood tips; the Latona, which has ash tips and edges; and the Kinlock, (featured above) which has mape tips and edges, as well as a chevron pattern down the blade.

Necky Kayaks

Necky Kayaks’ new ACS2 seats, designed for superior comfort and custom fit, are now available in their Manitou series of kayaks. The new seats are well vented and are fully adjustable. Paddlers can raise or lower their thigh support and recline, raise and lower the back rest. The fully custom fit of the sit and thigh braces allow paddlers to get more contact with the boat and more feedback while paddling.

Hurricane Aquasports

Hurricane Aquasports has just started shipping their Sojourn 146, in different volumes and also added a new color, purple (pictured below, on top). The Sojourn, designed by Steve Horvath, is made to feel like a 28″ inch wide boat, while only measuring 24″ wide. “Super stable,” said Hurricane, “but with good speed and performance.” The sub-50lbs day touring boat is available with or without a rudder system.

Sylvan Sport

Throwing your kayaks on your roof is quite the feat sometimes. Sylvan Sport’s new GO-Easy trailer is ideal for throwing multiple boats and a bunch of camping or fishing gear onto and then quickly attaching it to virtually any vehicle.

The 275lbs trailer is so light that not only can any vehicle tow it, but you can also un-hitch it from your truck and walk it down to the launch by hand. All the lights on the trailer are high-quality LEDs and come standard with 74″ Thule crossbar racks.
