Jackson Kayak’s two brand new recreational kayaks debuted at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market’s Demo Day—and the Adventure Kayak team was there to take them out for a rip.
Jackson Kayak’s Tripper T
Our first impression of the Tripper T tandem sit-in recreational kayak was of a versatile and stable boat. The Tripper T provides a comfortable and fast ride for two, or can be used by a solo kayaker who needs lots of storage. We our short paddle around Pineview Reservoir just outside of Salt Lake City, we found the Tripper T quickly got up to top speed and was easy to maneuver.

This is no surprise since the Tripper T is based on Jackson’s Kilroy/Tripper hull, which offers an excellent balance of tracking and maneuverability. Jackson’s Elite Seat System configuration provides a low and stable center of gravity, and the seats can also be removed for use as camp chairs.
YakAttack tracks mean paddlers and anglers can easily add accessories and keep them within reach, and there’s also a stern hatch for even more storage options.
“It’s a boat for everybody,” said a regional sales rep, “from families to hunters to fisherman.”
Retailing for just $1,299 the Tripper T also offers great budget value for paddlers. The Tripper T is 84 pounds, 33” wide and 14’8” long. Available in 2017.
Jackson Kayak’s Tupelo LT
The new Tupelo LT is a lighter version of Jackson’s already popular Tupelo, however this thermoformed version weighs just 35 pounds (40 pounds with the seat)—a savings of seven pounds over its predecessor.

Given market demand for lighter boats, it’s no surprise that Jackson produced this lighter version of the Tupelo given that it’s the most popular rec design they’ve ever built.
The LT features a nimble performance, while being easier transport. It offers the same comfort and full features, including being outfitted with YakAttack track systems to add accessories within easy reach.
The Tupelo LT will also be available in Realtree AP Camouflage. It’s specs are 35 pounds, 28” wide and 12’2” long. Available in 2017.
