Cataract Oars brought the Deso carbon fiber kayak paddle to Paddlesports Retailer 2017. It has a filament-wound carbon fiber shaft with a two-by-two carbon fiber twill over a molded foam urethane core, so the paddle will naturally rise to the surface of the water.
It also has an edge protector to keep the edge of the blade from wearing. The shaft has injection molded urethane grips that are ovalized and indexed so you automatically know where hands are on the paddle.
