Kokopelli brought some great new and updated gear to Paddlesports Retailer 2017. First off, they brought a new paddle that easily breaks down into four pieces. Once you break the paddle down, it fits perfectly into you packraft bag.

Kokopelli has also made a few design changes in the packraft that will keep paddlers comfortable. In the front deck of the boat, they changed it from a v-channel to a flat area so you can rest your feet in comfort.

The boat also has new thigh strap plates, that are very rigid and have a four point connections. Some people have even been able to roll the packraft.

Malone Telos XT Kayak Rack

Are you tired of having to lift your kayak to cartop it? Malone Auto Racks have beefed up their solution with the Telos XT.

The Telos XT is a load assist product that allows you to get your kayak on the roof of your car from the ground. It has two ratcheting arms that lower almost to the ground. Once you load your kayak on the arms, you alternate each arm up until your kayak gets to the loading ramp.

Once on the loading ramp, you just push the kayak into the j-cradle. Tie the kayak down and store the Telos XT in your car.

The Telos XT also has telescoping legs because Malone knows that everyone has cars of different heights.

Angle Oar brought their adaptive kayak paddle, the Versa, to Paddlesports Retailer 2017. The “Versa” stands for versatile and that is exactly what it is.

The paddle is supported by a mount that attaches to sit-in kayaks. The mount supports the weight of the paddle, reducing the stress on your arms and shoulders, and eliminating your torso rotation when paddling.

This paddle is great for paddlers with upper body disabilities, such as rotator cuff injuries. It’s so easy to paddle that you can paddle with one hand.

Sanborn Canoe Co. Handcrafted Paddles

Sanborn Canoe Co. specialized in handcrafting wooden canoe paddles. Their Gunflint is their best seller, built from cedar with a bare handle (which cuts down on the formation of blisters) and the shaft is also buffed down to cut down on blisters on those long days spent paddling.

This season, Sanborn Canoe Co. has also gotten into the SUP game. There are two versions of the SUP paddle. The first is mostly cedar with an ornate tip, fiberglass over the blade and the bottom portion of the shaft. The shaft is seven laminations of cedar, basswood and cherry.

The Pyranha Kayaks Ripper has a steep bow rocker, with a full volume bow. There are added handles, for extra rescue options, so you can paddle with peace of mind.

The steep bow rocker transitions into a low volume stern, which makes it easy to slice and get vertical on the water.
