Ten foot tides, swift tidal currents, continuous lines of breakers, container ships and even nuclear submarines. Sounds more like Cumbersome Island. But the most southerly of Georgia’s Barrier Islands rewards with diverse ecosysytems of maritime forest, saltmarshes and miles of pristine beach.
