The Adventure Kayak team got a sneak peek from Pelican Sport as they debuted new recreational kayaks at Outdoor Retailer’s Summer Maket 2016.
Pelican’s New Athena
The brand new stylish Athena is a women’s specific design that is narrower, shallower and lighter. Weighing just 35 pounds, this twin-arched multi-chine hull boasts excellent stablity and user friendliness. There are two storage hammocks in the cockpit to keep essentials close by, as well as a deck and stern bungee for lashing down other gear. The Athena’s color is pretty spiffy too: purple haze with a magenta cockpit accent. Expect comfort thanks to the ERGOfit Seating System. The Athena will be available in February 2017 at retails for $399.
Pelican’s New Sentry 100 EXO
Pelican also released the entry-level and beginner friendly Sentry 100 EXO. The Sentry featues adjustable footrests, comfortable ERGO form padded backrests with seat cushion, as well as carrying handles and a storage platform with a removable EXOpod stirage compartment for your on-water needs. At 10 feet long and made of Ram-X, the Sentry weighs 45 pounds. Ram-X is a rigid, durable and impact resistant, so you have fun on the water without worrying about babying your boat.
