Editors Wanted

Do you paddle? Can you spell? Do you want the best job in the world?

We are growing our editorial department with three new positions. Ideally, we’d like to hire a web editor/digital content manager, editor and managing editor.

In addition to our four paddling magazines, we publish two annuals, the 292-page Paddling Buyer’s Guide and our new Paddling Trip Guide. We also publish our monthly digital paddling magazine called, Paddling Magazine. And we’re the producers of the Reel Paddling Film Festival, an international paddling film festival.

About Rapid Media

We are an established paddlesports media company with print and digital magazines, online properties and a film festival. Visit us at www.rapidmedia.com to get a better feel for what we do.

We have partnerships with the American Canoe Association, Paddle Canada and Outdoor Retailer. We were the first paddling and fishing magazines, and first magazine in Canada, in Apple’s Apps Store.

The People

You will be joining a tight-knit team, consisting of a publisher and:

  • Four editors putting together Rapid, Adventure Kayak, Kayak Angler and Canoeroots magazines
  • Reel Paddling Film Festival World Tour coordinator
  • Media sales team
  • Circulation sales and marketing team
  • Advertising and sponsorship coordinator
  • Designer and production coordinator
  • Digital project manager
  • Circulation manager
  • Account manager

The Location

We are based in the beautiful Ottawa Valley, Palmer Rapids to be specific. Our office (pictured above) is on the bank of the Madawaska River, five minutes downstream from class II-III+ Palmer Rapids, less than an hour from the mighty Ottawa River, and right in the middle between Algonquin Park and Calabogie Peaks ski resort. We paddle regularly and go swimming from the dock at lunchtime.

If you’d rather wear loafers than flip-flops or troll the mall instead of drifting rivers, we appreciate it if you’d be so kind to send this information to your outdoorsy family members, friends and co-workers—the ones with the roof racks in the parking lot.
