Need gear?

Want to get outside but don’t have the right gear? No problem. GearCommons is your gateway to outdoor adventure. Search the GearCommons community and rent the gear you need from someone nearby.

Got gear?

This is your chance to share your passion for the outdoors with everyone around you. You can upload your gear and rent it out to people in your community. If anything goes wrong, you’ve got a security deposit to keep your gear safe.

Launched in August 2013, GearCommons is a peer-to-peer sharing website for renting outdoor gear. From kayaks and sleeping bags to tents and bikes, most types of outdoor gear are available to rent on the site (no canoes yet!). Owners of the gear can list their items for a daily fee and prospective renters can browse the listings, choose an item, and arrange a pickup.

We love the idea behind GearCommons and look forward to seeing it spread. Would you rent out your gear?
