The final day of the 2015 Canoecopia Show, was a big success for Rutabaga Paddlesports, as many of the boats on the booth’s shelves had a big sold sticker on them by the end of the day. The first paddling show for many in the US, Canoecopia was filled with spectators looking to buy new boats for the season, getting caught up on the latest trends in the world of paddling and talking with old friends they were worried about over the long winter. Check out the latest offerings that are sure to start a frenzy once spring hits your local waters: 

Kokatat

Kokatat’s Maximus Prime PFD gets an upgrade with their Maximus Centurion PFD. The PFD gets more storage in the front chest pocket, chich now has two pockets instead of one. A removeable front belly pocket comes standard, which is perfect for rescue or safety gear. “The Centurion is a Type 5 Rescue PFD that features wide, contoured shoulder straps that allow an independently suspended front flotation panel to move with the paddler,” says the Kokatat website.

NRS

The new women’s Siren PFD from NRS is designed to fit a woman’s body more comfortable, and also has a new venting system with eggshell paneling on the back, instead of mesh. The side-entry PFD has a front accordian pocket and you can tuck away the tag ends of straps for safety and convenience.

NRS has also added a new hooded version of their Silkweight shirt to their popular H2Core line. The hooded top, which fits snug to cover more of your face and provide more UPF protection, is longer in the arms and has a thumb holes for ease of use and comfort.

Malone Auto Racks

The latest offering from Malone Auto Racks, is the Versa Rail, a universal rack system that will give any flat car roof a set of capable kayak racks. The racks attach via suction cups and are secured with a strap that runs underneath the roof, through the car. Pricing for the Versa Rail system starts at $129.95, and has a capacity of 150lbs.
