SPOT has upgraded their already popular Global Satellite GPS Messenger and included two new devices. The SPOT Global Phone is a satellite phone that works around the world for under $500 and the Trace Device is a locator beacon for your expensive gear such as kayaks, ATVs and other boats. SPOT’s signature feature is the SOS function, which you can use to alert SPOT of an emergency and they in turn work with local search and rescue groups. Also becoming popular with SPOT devices are extreme outdoor competitions and races who issue them to all participants.
